A record-breaking Showcase Tour!

The Alta Advantage Showcase Tour, held June 14-17, 2016 in Wisconsin was one for the record books! With a record number of guests in attendance and countries represented, the 10 year anniversary of the tour was one to celebrate!

The Alta Advantage Showcase Tour – by the numbers:

332:   guests and Alta staff in attendance on the tour

31:   countries represented

17:   Alta Advantage Showcase Tours now successfully completed
         This 17th tour marks our 6th time visiting Wisconsin.

6:   full charter buses that transported guests throughout the tour

6:   owners who opened their dairies for our Showcase group to visit. We thank the following farms for their tremendous hospitality and for sharing their knowledge and management practices during this Showcase Tour:

Melichar Broad Acres - Port Washington, WI
Lake Breeze Dairy - Malone, WI
Kane Farms - Denmark, WI
Tinedale Farms - Wrightstown, WI
Green Valley Dairy - Krakow, WI
Dairy Dreams - Casco, WI

12,960:   total number of cows milked among the farms we visited

132:   cows featured in the Alta Advantage Performance Pens

28:   Alta sires featured in the Performance Pens throughout our six tour stops

36:   stations that guest visited throughout the entire tour.

These included the Performance Pens of daughters and stations on nutrition and precision feeding, on-farm milk culturing, reproductive protocols, genomics and setting a genetic plan, RFID technology, calf management, sire fertility, sand lane management, labor organization, dairy economics, farm diversification, hoof trimming and more.

2:   buses that took guests to a pre-tour visit at Budjon at Budjon Farms to learn more about PEAK Genetics

1:   trip, tour and dinner at the famous Lambeau Field, home of Wisconsin's Green Bay Packer football team!


These numbers all sum up into ONE tremendous tour! The camaraderie throughout the tour days and into the evening activities, along with the ability to learn from our host farm owners and others on the tour left guests from around the world with a lasting impression of Alta's progressive approach to genetics and reproduction.
